Glenview Classical Series

Glenview Classical Series presents accessible concerts in Oakland, CA that feature a wide variety of music by local Bay Area musicians.

About

Since 2018 the Glenview Classical Series has presented monthly concerts featuring talented local musicians. Co-curated by Lewis Patzner and Derek Sup, the series focuses on bringing classical music of all types to new audiences. They have programmed concerts themed around Bach, 20th century avant-garde, newly composed local music, and more.

In 2022, the series began a project called the Free Key Choir, which has grown to over 120 members. Their unique approach to choral singing and collaborative art-making takes songs written by members of the choir and turns them into large-scale choral compositions.

All kids age 13 and under can attend for free! If you need to complete a concert requirement for school, feel free to take your program home with you (or take one home anyway as a souvenir)!
